8th Grade Digital Art: 1st and 6th hours

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.I.VA.M.3     Select and use the visual characteristics and organizational principles of art to communicate ideas.

 ART.II.VA.M.6   Organize information and ideas for media productions.

 ART.III.VA.M.4   Describe and compare the characteristics of personal artwork to the artwork of others.

 ART.IV.VA.M.3   Anaylze, describe, and demonstrate how factors of time and place (such as climate, resources, ideas, and technology) influence visual characteristics that give meaning and value to a work of art.

     Objective:   To learn about Fashion Design and design a shoe.

     Agenda:

Monday:  Students will finish drawing their shoe designs on paper and begin designing their shoes on the computer.

Tuesday:   Students will continue designing their shoes on the computer.

Wednesday:  Students will finish designing their shoe advertisements on the computer.

Thursday:  Students will learn about Game Design and complete a worksheet about the career.

Friday:  Students will begin brainstorming ideas for the cover of a game.

7th Grade Art: 2nd and 3rd hours

Essential Question: How does Art shape our view of the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.I.7.2    Understand the concept of proper use of art materials and using tools safely and responsibly at an emerging level.

ART.VA.IV.7.2    Articulate an understanding of the historical, social, and cultural contexts of artwork with an emerging level of aesthetic sophistication.

ART.VA.I.7.5    Produce and exhibit a final product that demonstrates quality craftsmanship and technique at an emerging level.

Objective:  Students will create a cartoon character with Paper Mache.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will work on their monochromatic paintings.

Tuesday:  Students will finish their monochromatic paintings.

Wednesday:  Students will be introduced to the paper mache project (2nd & 3rd hours) and the repeating object drawing (5th hour)

Thursday:  Students will begin creating their characters for paper mache/Students will work on their drawings

Friday:  Students will work on their projects.

7th Grade Art: 5th hour

Essential Question: How does Art shape our view of the world?

Content Standards:

Objective:  Students will create a design that focuses on the elements and principles of art and colored pencil techniques.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will work on a colored pencil practice sheet.

Tuesday:  Students will work on drawing their designs.

Wednesday:  Students will work on drawing their designs and begin coloring them.

Thursday:  Students will continue to work on their object drawings.

Friday:  Students will finish their object drawings.
