8th Grade Digital Art: 1st hour

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will learn the classroom expectations and procedures and will be introduced to the Elements and Principles of Design.  Students will also take the class pre-test.

Agenda:

Monday: Students will work on Illustrator practice #3.  

Tuesday: Students will finish Illustrator practice #3.

Wednesday: Students will create a name design in Illustrator.

Thursday: Students will finish the name design in Illustrator.  Students will work on Type on a Path mini project.

Friday: Students will work on Blending shapes mini project.

6th Grade Art: 2nd hour

Essential Question: How do life experiences influence Art?

Content Standards:

Objective:  Students will learn about Op Art and create an Op Art project.

Agenda:

Monday: Finish name design project.  Complete self-evaluation.

Tuesday: Powerpoint about Op Art.  Demo and discussion of project.  Work on project.

Wednesday: Work on Op Art project.

Thursday: Work on Op Art project.

Friday: Finish Op Art project.  Complete self-evaluation.

7th Grade Digital Art: 3rd hour

Essential Question: How do life experiences influence Art?

Content Standards:

Objective:  Students will learn how the cameras work and use the cameras and Photoshop to create their first project.

Agenda:

Monday: Review homework, camera expectations powerpoint, camera exploration worksheet

Tuesday: Camera expectations quiz, Digital Photography worksheet

Wednesday: Powerpoint of “Mini Me” project, review expectations, take photos for project

Thursday: Review project, use photos in Photoshop to create “Mini Me” project

Friday: Finish “Mini Me” project, complete self-assessment

Art.I.VA.M.3     Select and use the visual characteristics and organization principles of art to communicate ideas.

Objective:  Students will create a quilling project.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will work on their quilling projects.

Tuesday:  Students will begin their quilling projects.

Wednesday:  Students will work on their quilling projects. 

Thursday: Students will work on their quilling projects.

Friday: Students will work on their quilling projects.
