8th Grade Digital Art: 1st hour

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will learn different tools in Adobe Illustrator.

Agenda:

Monday: Students will work on a shield with a coat of arms in Illustrator.

Tuesday: Students will work on a shield with a coat of arms in Illustrator.

Wednesday: Students will learn about different art careers.  Students will be introduced to the logo design project.

Thursday: Students will work on the logo design project.

Friday: No school!  Spring Break starts!

6th Grade Art: 2nd hour

Essential Question: How do life experiences influence Art?

Content Standards:

Objective:  Students will learn about Op Art and create an Op Art project.

Agenda:

Monday: Students will work on their Op art project.

Tuesday:  Students will finish Op Art project.  Students will complete a self-evaluation.

Wednesday: Students will be introduced to the Zentangle Owl project.

Thursday: Students will work on zentangles.

Friday: No School!  Spring Break starts!

7th Grade Digital Art: 3rd hour

Essential Question: How do life experiences influence Art?

Content Standards:

Objective:  Students will begin using the cameras and Photoshop together to create projects.

Agenda:

Monday: Students will take photos for their “mini me” project.

Tuesday: Students will work in Photoshop to complete the “mini me” project.

Wednesday: Students will be introduced to the focal point lesson and take photos for the project.

Thursday: Students will work in Photoshop to complete the focal point lesson.

Friday: No school!  Spring Break starts!

8th Grade Basic Design: 5th hour

Essential Question:  How does Art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

Art. I.VA.M.1   Select materials, techniques, media technology, and processes to achieve desired effects

Art.I.VA.M.2   Use art materials and tools safely and responsibly to communicate experiences and ideas.

Art.I.VA.M.3     Select and use the visual characteristics and organization principles of art to communicate ideas.

Objective:  Students will create a deconstructed book.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will be introduced to the deconstructed book project.   Students will get ideas for what they are going to do with their book and begin working with their book.

Tuesday:  Students will work on their deconstructed books.

Wednesday:  Students will work on their deconstructed books.

Thursday: Students will work on their deconstructed books.

Friday: No school!  Spring Break starts!

Objective:  Students will learn about Mandalas and will create their own mandala.

Agenda:

Monday: Work on mandalas.

Tuesday: Work on mandalas.

Wednesday: Work on mandalas.

Thursday: Finish mandalas.  Complete a self-evaluation.

Friday: No School!  Spring Break starts!
