8th Grade Digital Art: 1st hour

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will learn about the Fashion Design Career and create a design for a shoe.

Agenda:

Monday: Students will finish their Stryker projects in Illustrator.  Students will complete a self-evaluation.

Tuesday: Students will be introduced to the Fashion Design career.  Students will work on a career worksheet.  Students will begin designing their ideas for their shoes on paper.

Wednesday: Students will finish designing their shoe on paper and begin designing it in Illustrator.

Thursday: Students will work on their shoe designs in Illustrator.

Friday: Students will finish designing their shoe designs in Illustrator.  Students will complete a self-evaluation

6th Grade Art: 2nd hour

Essential Question: How do life experiences influence Art?

Content Standards:

Objective:  Students will create an Aquarium Perspective drawing.

Agenda:

Monday: Students will work on their Aquarium Perspective drawings.

Tuesday:  Students will work on their Aquarium Perspective drawings.

Wednesday: Students will finish their Aquarium Perspective drawings and complete a self-evaluation.

Thursday: Students will be introduced to James Rizzi and his style of art.  Students will watch a powerpoint and begin drawing their designs.

Friday:Students will work on their Rizzi projects.

7th Grade Digital Art: 3rd hour

Essential Question: How do life experiences influence Art?

Content Standards:

Objective:  Students will learn about Andy Warhol and create a Pop Art inspired project.

Agenda:

Monday: Students will finish their Mandala projects and complete a self-evaluation.

Tuesday: Students will learn about Andy Warhol through a powerpoint.  Students will learn about filters in Photoshop.  Students will begin creating a Pop Art project with filters in Photoshop.

Wednesday: Students will work on their Photo Filters project.

Thursday:  Students will work on their Photo Filters project.

Friday:  Students will finish their Photo Filters projects and complete a self-evaluation.

8th Grade Basic Design: 5th hour

Essential Question:  How does Art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

Art.I.VA.M.2   Use art materials and tools safely and responsibly to communicate experiences and ideas.

Art.I.VA.M.3     Select and use the visual characteristics and organization principles of art to communicate ideas.

Objective:  Students will create a relief sculpture.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will work on their relief sculptures that they started last week, using cardboard tubes.

Tuesday:  Students will work on adding tissue paper to their relief sculptures.

Wednesday:  Students will work on adding tissue paper to their relief sculptures.

Thursday: Students will work on adding tissue paper to their relief sculptures.

Friday: Students will work on their relief sculptures.
