8th Grade Digital Art: 1st hour

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will learn about the Illustration Career and design a Movie Poster.

Agenda:

Monday: No school-Memorial day

Tuesday: Students will be introduced to the Illustration career and to the Movie poster project.  Students will complete a worksheet about Illustration.  Students will begin designing their Movie poster on paper and when finished begin working on their poster in Illustrator.

Wednesday: Students will work on their Movie Posters in Illustrator.

Thursday: Students will work on theirMovie Posters in Illustrator.

Friday: Students will finish designing theirMovie Posters in Illustrator.  Students will complete a self-evaluation

6th Grade Art: 2nd hour

Essential Question: How do life experiences influence Art?

Content Standards:

Objective:  Students will draw a Cartoon character using a grid.

Agenda:

Monday: No school-Memorial day

Tuesday:  Students will work on their Rizzi projects.  Students will complete a self evaluation.

Wednesday: Students will be introduced to the Cartoon character grid painting.  Students will choose their cartoon character and begin making their grid.

Thursday: Students will start drawing their cartoon character using their grid.

Friday:Students will work on their drawings.

7th Grade Digital Art: 3rd hour

Essential Question: How do life experiences influence Art?

Content Standards:

Objective:  Students will create a “multiples of me” photograph.

Agenda:

Monday: No school-Memorial day

Tuesday: Students will be introduced to the Multiples of Me project.  Students will partner up and go take photos for the project.

Wednesday: Students will finish taking photos with their partners for the project.

Thursday:  Students will begin working in Photoshop to put their photos together.

Friday:  Students will finish their Multiples of Me projects and complete a self-evaluation.

8th Grade Basic Design: 5th hour

Essential Question:  How does Art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

Art. I.VA.M.1   Select materials, techniques, media technology, and processes to achieve desired effects

Art.I.VA.M.2   Use art materials and tools safely and responsibly to communicate experiences and ideas.

Art.I.VA.M.3     Select and use the visual characteristics and organization principles of art to communicate ideas.

Objective:  Students will research an artist and their work and create a poster.

Agenda:

Monday:  No school-Memorial day

Tuesday:  Students will research an artist and one specific work of that artist.  Students will begin putting together posters about their research.

Wednesday:  Students will work on their posters.

Thursday: Students will work on their posters.

Friday: Students will finish their posters.  Students will complete a self-evaluation.

Essential Question: How does Art shape our view of the world?

Content Standards:

Objective:  Students will learn about Pop Art and will create a painting of Superman or Super Woman.

Agenda:

Monday: No school-Memorial day

Tuesday: Students will work on painting their Super Hero.

Wednesday: Students will work on painting their Super Hero.

Thursday: Students will work on painting their Super Hero drawings.

Friday: Students will finish painting their Super Hero drawings.  Students will complete a self-evaluation.
