8th Grade Digital Art: 1st hour

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.1 Effectively identify, design, and solve creative problems.

ART.VA.II.8.7    Apply preliminaries, possibilities, and drafts in the creative problem solving process.

ART.VA.V.8.2   Effectively recognize and describe the skills used in visual arts careers.

     Objective:   Students will learn about the Advertising career path and re-design a food or drink package.

     Agenda:

Monday: Students will continue to work on their package re-designs on the computer.

Tuesday: Students will continue to work on their package re-designs on the computer.

Wednesday: Students will finish their package re-designs and complete a self-evaluation.

Thursday: Students will review for their final exam.  Students will complete any missing work.

Friday:  Students will take the final exam.  Students will complete any missing work.

7th Grade Art: 3rd and 5th hours

Essential Question: How does Art shape our view of the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.I.7.2    Understand the concept of proper use of art materials and using tools safely and responsibly at an emerging level.

ART.VA.I.7.5    Produce and exhibit a final product that demonstrates quality craftsmanship and technique at an emerging level.

ART.VA.II.7.1  Identify, design, and solve creative problems at an emerging level.

Objective:  Students will create a design using the elements and principles of design.

Agenda:

Monday:   Students will be introduced to the Objects in Color project.  Students will begin drawing their objects.

Tuesday:  Students will finish drawing their objects and draw their grid on top of their objects.  Students will begin coloring their designs with colored pencils.

Wednesday:  Students will work on coloring their designs.

Thursday:  Students will finish coloring their designs.  Students will complete a self-evaluation.

Friday:  Students will review for the final exam.

6th Grade Art: 2nd and 6th hours

Essential Question: How do life experiences impact our Art?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.6.7    Create preliminaries, possibilities, and drafts at a developing level.

ART.VA.II.6.1  Identify, design, and solve creative problems at a developing level.

ART.VA.I.6.4  Develop reflective thinking skills by observing, analyzing, and critically evaluating works of art for the purpose of improving technical quality.

Objective:  Students will learn about perspective drawing and create a painting using perspective.

Agenda:

Monday: Students will finish painting their backgrounds and coloring details with sharpie marker, if needed.  Students will color sea creatures, cut them out and glue them on to their aquariums.  

Tuesday:  Students will finish their aquarium perspective projects and will complete a self-evaluation.

Wednesday:  Students will review for the final exam.  Students will finish any missing work.

Thursday:  Students will review for the final exam.  Students will finish any missing work.

Friday:   Students will take the final exam.  Students will finish any missing work.
