8th Grade Digital Imaging: 1st hour

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will learn about the Fine Arts career and create a design in the style of Romero Britto.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will learn about the Fine Arts career and an artist named Romero Britto.  Students will begin to sketch out ideas for their design.

Tuesday:  Students will finish sketching their design ideas for their project.  Students will begin creating their design in Illustrator.

Wednesday:  Students will work on creating their designs in Illustrator.

Thursday:  Students will continue to create their designs in Illustrator.

Friday:  Students will finish creating their designs in Illustrator.  Students will complete a self-evaluation.

7th Grade Digital Imaging: 2nd & 3rd hour

Essential Question: How does Art shape our view of the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.I.7.3      Demonstrate the use of successful visual vocabulary at an emerging level.

ART.VA.II.7.3    Collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas at an emerging level.

ART.VA.III.7.1    Critically observe, describe, and analyze visual characteristics at an emerging level.

Objective:  Students will learn about Dorthea Lange and create a book of Straight Photography.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will continue to take photography for their photo books.

Tuesday:  Students will be shown how to create the pages for their photo books.  Students will work on their photo books.

Wednesday:  Students will work on their photo books.

Thursday:  Students will work on their photo books.

Friday:  Students will finish their photo books and will complete a self-evaluation.

Friday:  Students will finish their relief sculptures and will complete a self-evaluation.

Thursday:  Students will work on their clay creatures.

Friday:  Students will work on their clay creatures.
