8th Grade Digital Imaging: 1st hour

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will learn about the Fashion Design career and create a shoe advertisement.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will learn about the Fashion Design career and the shoe advertisement project.  Students will begin to sketch out ideas for their design.

Tuesday:  Students will finish sketching their design ideas for their project.  Students will begin creating their design in Illustrator.

Wednesday:  Students will work on creating their designs in Illustrator.

Thursday:  Students will continue to create their designs in Illustrator.

Friday:  Students will finish creating their designs in Illustrator.  Students will complete a self-evaluation.

7th Grade Digital Imaging: 2nd & 3rd hour

Essential Question: How does Art shape our view of the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.I.7.3      Demonstrate the use of successful visual vocabulary at an emerging level.

ART.VA.II.7.3    Collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas at an emerging level.

ART.VA.III.7.1    Critically observe, describe, and analyze visual characteristics at an emerging level.

Objective:  Students will learn about Andy Warhol and Pop Art and will create a Pop Art inspired image of themselves.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will view a powerpoint about Andy Warhol and Pop Art.  Students will view a demonstration about the project.  Students will take a photo of themselves and add a filter to it.  Students will save the images they create.

Tuesday:  No class, MSTEP testing.

Wednesday:  Students will continue creating their Pop Art photos.

Thursday:  Students will put them all together when finished and complete a self-evaluation.  Students will take photos for their iDesign project.

Friday:  Students will see a demo for their iDesign project.  Students will work on their iDesigns.  Students will complete a self-evaluation when finished.

Basic Design: 5th hour

Monday:  Students will work on their masks.

Tuesday:  Students will work on their masks.

Wednesday:  Students will work on their masks.

Thursday:  Students will work on their masks.

Friday:  Students will finish their masks.  Students will complete a self-evaluation when finished.

Monday: Students will work on their Superman or Wonder Woman drawings.

Tuesday:  Students will work on their Superman or Wonder Woman drawings.

Wednesday:  Students will work on their Superman or Wonder Woman drawings.

Thursday:  Students will begin to paint their Superman or Wonder Woman drawings.

Friday:  Students will work on their Superman or Wonder Woman paintings.
