7th Grade Art: 2nd, 3rd and 5th hours

Essential Question: How does Art shape our view of the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.I.7.3      Demonstrate the use of successful visual vocabulary at an emerging level.

ART.VA.II.7.3    Collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas at an emerging level.

ART.VA.III.7.1    Critically observe, describe, and analyze visual characteristics at an emerging level.

Objective:  Students will learn about Contour Drawing and will design a project using their hand.

Agenda:

Monday:  Warm up, discussion/demo of Contour Hand Design project, discussion of I Can grade sheets, finish name designs if needed, complete grade sheets for name designs, begin Contour Hand Design project

Tuesday: Warm up, work on contour hand design project

Wednesday:  Warm up, work on contour hand design project

Thursday:  Warm up, work on contour hand design project

Friday:  Warm up, work on contour hand design project

6th Grade Digital Art: 4th hour

Essential Question: How do life experiences influence art?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will learn about Andy Warhol and will create a Pop Art Yourself project.

Agenda:

Monday:  Review Photoshop tools, finish Photoshop mini project, discussion of how to save to flash drives, save mini project to flash drives

Tuesday: Warm up, powerpoint: Andy Warhol, Andy Warhol worksheet

Wednesday: Warm up, demonstration: Pop Art Yourself project, work time

Thursday: Continue working on Pop Art Yourself project

Friday: Finish working on Pop Art Yourself project, I Can grade sheets-discussion and complete, save work to flash drives

8th Grade Digital Art: 6th hour

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will be introduced to the tools in Adobe Illustrator.

Agenda:

Monday:  Warm up, work on practice 4

Tuesday: Finish practice 4, learn how to do type on a path and blending shapes

Wednesday: Learn how to do Name Design in Illustrator, work on it, complete it and save work to flash drives

Thursday: Step-by-step follow along: learn how to make a shield in Illustrator

Friday: Step-by-step follow along: learn how to make a shield in Illustrator day 2, finish and save
