Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

 Objective:  Students will create a Mandala.

Agenda:

Monday: Review homework, demo of Mandala project, worktime

Tuesday: Students will work on Mandalas

Wednesday:  Students will work on Mandalas

Thursday:  Students will work on Mandalas

Friday:  Students will work on Mandalas

6th Grade Art: 2nd and 3rd hours

Essential Question: How do life experiences influence art?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.I.6.2  Develop the concept of proper use of art materials and using tools safely and responsibly.

ART.VA.I.6.3  Develop a successful visual vocabulary.

ART.VA.III.6.2  Develop the skill of interpreting artwork, searching for embedded meaning, function, and personal connections at a developing level.

Objective:  Students will learn about Optical art and will create an Op Art Design.

Agenda:

Monday: Review homework, demo of Op Art, work time

Tuesday: Students will work on their Op Art projects

Wednesday:  Students will work on their Op Art projects

Thursday:  Students will work on their Op Art projects

Friday:  Students will work on their Op Art projects

Friday:  Students will work on their collage scale drawings
