8th Grade Art: 1st and 6th hours

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

 Objective:  Students will FINISH STRONG!  All assignments will be completed.  Final project will be created.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will be introduced to the final project for the class.  Students will begin working on it.

Tuesday: Students will continue working on their final projects.

Wednesday:  Students will continue working on their final projects.  Students will complete any missing work when finished.

Thursday:  Students will finish their final projects.  Students will complete any missing work.

Friday:  No school!  End of Trimester 2!

6th Grade Art: 2nd and 3rd hours

Essential Question: How do life experiences influence art?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.I.6.2  Develop the concept of proper use of art materials and using tools safely and responsibly.

ART.VA.I.6.3  Develop a successful visual vocabulary.

ART.VA.III.6.2  Develop the skill of interpreting artwork, searching for embedded meaning, function, and personal connections at a developing level.

Objective:  Students will FINISH STRONG!  Students will finish all missing work and take the final exam.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will review for their final exam.

Tuesday:  Students will take their final exam.

Wednesday:  Students will finish any missing work

Thursday:  Students will finish any missing work.

Friday:  No school!  End of Trimester 2!

8th Grade Basic Design: 5th hour

Objective:  Students will create a multi-media drawing.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will be introduced to the multi-media project.  Students will finish painting their designs.  Students will complete a self-evaluation when finished.  Students who are finished with paintings will begin their multi-media projects.

Tuesday:  Students will work on their multi-media projects.

Wednesday:  Students will work on their multi-media projects.

Thursday:  Students will work on their multi-media projects.

Friday:  No school!  End of Trimester 2!
