7th Grade Digital Art: 1st, 2nd and 3rd hours

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.I.7.3      Demonstrate the use of successful visual vocabulary at an emerging level.

ART.VA.II.7.3    Collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas at an emerging level.

ART.VA.III.7.1    Critically observe, describe, and analyze visual characteristics at an emerging level.

Objective:  Students will learn the tools in Adobe Photoshop.  They will create a mini project in Photoshop and then will learn about how to use the cameras.

Agenda:

Monday: Review homework, review tools, begin Photoshop mini project.

Tuesday: Finish Photoshop mini project.

Wednesday: Camera exploration worksheet

Thursday: Artifacts: Andric Ljubodrag, Powerpoint: Andric Ljubodrag/inspiration for first photo assignment “mini me”

Friday: Review camera usage and expectations, take photos for mini me project

8th Grade Basic Design: 5th hour

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will create a low-relief sculpture with Quilling.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will work on their Quilling.

Tuesday:  Students will work on their Quilling.

Wednesday:  Students will work on their Quilling.

Thursday:  Students will work on their Quilling.

Friday:  Students will work on their Quilling.

Monday: Review homework, Illustrator practice 1

Tuesday: Finish Illustrator practice 1, begin Illustrator practice 2

Wednesday: Finish Illustrator practice 2, begin Illustrator practice 3

Thursday: Finish Illustrator practice 3, begin Illustrator practice 4

Friday: Finish Illustrator practice 4, make sure all practices are complete and turned in
