7th Grade Digital Art: 1st, 2nd and 3rd hours

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.I.7.3      Demonstrate the use of successful visual vocabulary at an emerging level.

ART.VA.II.7.3    Collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas at an emerging level.

ART.VA.III.7.1    Critically observe, describe, and analyze visual characteristics at an emerging level.

Objective:  Students will learn about Rene Magritte and create a Who’s in School project in Photoshop.

Agenda:

Monday:  Intro to who’s in school project, take photos

Tuesday:  Demo who’s in school project, work time

Wednesday: Finish who’s in school project, upload to Google Classroom, complete self-assessment, finish any missing work

Thursday:  Finish any missing work

Friday:  1/2 day, end of MP 5

8th Grade Basic Design: 5th hour

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will learn about Keith Haring and will create a paper mache sculpture in his style.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will work on their Keith Haring sculptures

Tuesday:  Students will work on their Keith Haring sculptures

Wednesday:  Students will work on their Keith Haring sculptures

Thursday:  Students will work on their Keith Haring sculptures

Friday:  1/2 day, end of MP 5

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will learn about Fashion Design and will create a shoe design.

Agenda:

Monday: Students will finish their Romero Britto designs in Illustrator, upload them to Google Classroom and complete a self-assessment

Tuesday: Students will research the Industrial Design Career

Wednesday: Students will finish any missing work

Thursday:  Students will finish any missing work

Friday: 1/2 day, end of MP 5
