7th Grade Digital Art: 1st, 2nd and 3rd hours

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.I.7.3      Demonstrate the use of successful visual vocabulary at an emerging level.

ART.VA.II.7.3    Collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas at an emerging level.

ART.VA.III.7.1    Critically observe, describe, and analyze visual characteristics at an emerging level.

Objective:  Students will learn about Dorthea Lange and Straight Photography.  Students will take a series of photos.

Agenda:

Monday:  Dorthea Lange research notes

Tuesday:  M-Step testing

Wednesday: M-step testing

Thursday:  M-step testing

Friday:  Straight Photography powerpoint/examples, check out cameras, take photos

8th Grade Basic Design: 5th hour

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will learn about Keith Haring and will create a paper mache sculpture in his style.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will work on their Keith Haring sculptures

Tuesday:  Students will work on their Keith Haring sculptures

Wednesday:  Students will work on their Keith Haring sculptures

Thursday:  Students will work on their Keith Haring sculptures

Friday:  Students will finish their Keith Haring sculptures

8th Grade Digital Art: 6th hour

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will learn about Industrial Design and will create a design for a Stryker S3 Bed.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will learn about the Stryker design project.  Students will sketch out their ideas and then begin working in Illustrator on their designs.

Tuesday: Students will work on their Stryker designs in Illustrator.

Wednesday:  Students will work on their Stryker designs in Illustrator.

Thursday:  Students will work on their Stryker designs in Illustrator.

Friday:  Students will finish their Stryker designs in Illustrator.  Students will complete a self-assessment and turn in work to the google classroom.
