Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.I.7.3      Demonstrate the use of successful visual vocabulary at an emerging level.

ART.VA.II.7.3    Collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas at an emerging level.

ART.VA.III.7.1    Critically observe, describe, and analyze visual characteristics at an emerging level.

Objective:  Students will learn about street artists Banksey and Pejac and will create a “Multiples of Me” project in Photoshop.

Agenda:

Monday:  Memorial Day, no school!

Tuesday:  Powerpoint and research about street artists, Banksey and Pejac.

Wednesday:  Explanation of Multiples of Me project, take photos and upload to computers

Thursday:  Work on Multiples of Me project in Photoshop

Friday:  Finish Multiples of Me, complete self-assessment and upload to google classroom

8th Grade Basic Design: 5th hour

Objective:  Students will learn about an artist of their choice and will create a project inspired by that artist.

Monday:  Memorial Day, no school!

Tuesday:  Students will work on their wire sculptures

Wednesday:  Students will finish their wire sculptures and will complete a self-assessment

Thursday:  Students will be introduced to the final project/research paper.  Students will begin working on their research of an artist

Friday:  Students will work on their final projects (research paper and project)

Thursday:  Students will learn about the Advertising career.  Students will learn about the package redesign project and sketch out their ideas.

Friday:  Students will begin working on their packages in Illustrator.

Monday:  Powerpoint and research about Gordon Parks.

Wednesday:  Take photos if needed, begin creating magazine cover in Photoshop

Thursday:  Work on magazine cover in Photoshop

Friday:  Finish magazine cover, complete self-assessment and upload to google classroom

Wednesday:  Students will finish their masks and will complete a self-assessment

Thursday:  Students will be introduced to the abstract sculpture project and will begin sketching out their ideas

Friday:  Students will begin putting their wire sculptures together and getting them started

Wednesday:  Pop Art project 2: iDesign-demo and take photos

Thursday:  Pop Art project 2: work time

Friday:  Finish iDesign, complete self-assessment and upload to google classroom
