7th Grade Digital Art: 1st, 2nd and 3rd hours

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.I.7.3      Demonstrate the use of successful visual vocabulary at an emerging level.

ART.VA.II.7.3    Collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas at an emerging level.

ART.VA.III.7.1    Critically observe, describe, and analyze visual characteristics at an emerging level.

Objective:  Students will learn about Andy Warhol and will create 2 Pop Art projects in Photoshop.

Agenda:

Monday:  Pop Art project 1: Filters in Photoshop-demo and work time

Tuesday:  Finish Pop Art project 1, submit to google classroom and complete self-assessment

Wednesday:  Pop Art project 2: iDesign-demo and take photos

Thursday:  Pop Art project 2: work time

Friday:  Finish iDesign, complete self-assessment and upload to google classroom

8th Grade Basic Design: 5th hour

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will learn about sugar skulls and the Day of the Dead and will create a sugar skull mask.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will view a powerpoint about the Day of the Dead and sugar skulls.  Students will begin creating their masks.

Tuesday:  Students will work on creating their masks.

Wednesday:  Students will work on their masks.

Thursday:  Students will work on painting their masks.

Friday:  Students will work on painting their masks.

Objective:  Students will learn about Video Game Design and will create a game cover.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will work on their shoe designs in Illustrator.

Tuesday: Students will finish their shoe designs, complete a self-assessment and turn in their work to the google classroom.

Wednesday:  Students will learn about the video game design career.

Thursday:  Students will learn about the game cover project and will sketch out their ideas.

Friday:  Students will work on their game covers in Illustrator.
