7th Grade Digital Art: 1st, 2nd and 3rd hours

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.I.7.3      Demonstrate the use of successful visual vocabulary at an emerging level.

ART.VA.II.7.3    Collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas at an emerging level.

ART.VA.III.7.1    Critically observe, describe, and analyze visual characteristics at an emerging level.

Objective:  Students will learn about digital artist Jerry Uelsman and will create a morphed photo.  Students will also finish any work, study for their final exam and take their final exam.

Agenda:

Monday:  Jerry Uelsman artist notes, morphed photo project description/directions, work time

Tuesday:  Work on morphed photo assignment, save and turn in when finished

Wednesday:  Work on morphed photo assignment, save and turn in when finished

Thursday:  Review for final exam, finish any missing work

Friday:  Take final exam

8th Grade Basic Design: 5th hour

Essential Question: How does art impact our place in the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.3    Effectively collaborate, communicate, and work with others to create new ideas.

ART.VA.III.8.4    Effectively use critical thinking strategies to observe, compare, and contrast artworks.

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will learn about an artist/artwork of their choice and will create a poster about that artist/artwork.  Students will photograph their artwork and create a digital portfolio on their Google Drive.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will work on their posters.

Tuesday:  Students will work on their posters.

Wednesday:  Students will finish their posters.

Thursday:  Students will make sure all their work has been photographed and placed into their google drive portfolio.  Students will begin their portfolio reflection.

Friday:  Students will work on their portfolio reflection

ART.VA.III.8.5    Develop and defend informed aesthetic opinions about works of art using effective artistic vocabulary.

Objective:  Students will learn about Advertising and will re-design a food package.  Students will finish any missing work.  Students will review for their final exam and take their final exam.

Agenda:

Monday:  Students will work on their food packages.

Tuesday:  Students will work on their food packages

Wednesday:  Students will finish their food packages, complete a self-assessment and turn in their work to the google classroom.

Thursday:  Students will review for their final exam.  Students will check their grades and finish any missing work.

Friday:  Students will take their final exam.
