Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.8.1 Effectively identify, design, and solve creative problems.

ART.VA.II.8.7    Apply preliminaries, possibilities, and drafts in the creative problem solving process.

ART.VA.V.8.2   Effectively recognize and describe the skills used in visual arts careers.

     Objective:   Students will learn about the Video Game Design career path and design their own cover for a video game.

     Agenda:

Monday: Students will learn about the video game design career.  Students will begin to plan out their designs for a game cover.

Tuesday: Students will finish planning out their game cover designs and begin creating their covers in Illustrator.

Wednesday: Students will work on their game covers on the computer.

Thursday: Students will continue to work on their game covers on the computer.

Friday: Students will finish their game covers on the computer and complete a self-evaluation.

7th Grade Art: 3rd and 5th hours

Essential Question: How does Art shape our view of the world?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.I.7.2    Understand the concept of proper use of art materials and using tools safely and responsibly at an emerging level.

ART.VA.I.7.5    Produce and exhibit a final product that demonstrates quality craftsmanship and technique at an emerging level.

ART.VA.II.7.1  Identify, design, and solve creative problems at an emerging level.

Objective:  Students will create a cartoon character out of paper mache.

Agenda:

Monday: Students will look at examples, in groups discuss the different shapes that could create the characters they see. Discuss the characters they want to use and what shapes and colors they would need. Find an image of the character they want to use on the computer. Print the images.

Tuesday:  Students will begin using newspaper and tape to build the basic shape of the character.

Wednesday:  Students will continue to build the armatures for their paper mache characters.

Thursday:  Students will continue building the armatures for their paper mache characters.  When ready, students will begin to paper mache their characters.

Friday:  Students will work on paper macheing their characters.

Essential Question: How do life experiences impact our Art?

Content Standards:

ART.VA.II.6.7    Create preliminaries, possibilities, and drafts at a developing level.

ART.VA.II.6.1  Identify, design, and solve creative problems at a developing level.

ART.VA.I.6.4  Develop reflective thinking skills by observing, analyzing, and critically evaluating works of art for the purpose of improving technical quality.

Objective:  Students will learn about recycled art and create a paper mache minion with recycled materials.

Agenda:

Monday: Students will look at examples, in groups discuss recycled art. Begin building the armature for the minions with toilet paper tubes, newspaper, cardboard and tape.

Tuesday:  Students will finish building the armatures for the minions.

Wednesday:  Students will use paper mache paste and strips of newspaper and paper towel to cover the minions.

Thursday:  Students will continue to paper mache their minions.

Friday:Students will continue to paper mache their minions.

Monday: Students will finish their Stryker designs on the computer and complete a self-evaluation.

Tuesday: Students will learn about the fashion design career.  Students will begin to plan out their shoe designs.

Wednesday: Students will work on their shoe designs on the computer.

Thursday: 1/2 day AM schedule;  Students will continue to work on their shoe designs on the computer.

Friday: Students will finish their shoe designs on the computer and complete a self-evaluation.

Thursday:  1/2 day AM schedule;   Students will continue coloring and drawing designs in their grids.

Friday:  Students will finish coloring and drawing designs in their grids.  Students will complete a self-evaluation.  Students will take their face proportions post-assessment

Thursday:  1/2 day AM schedule;  Students will work on coloring their James Rizzi designs.

Friday:  Students will finish their James Rizzi designs.  Students will complete an I CAN self-assessment.

     Agenda:

Monday: Students will watch a powerpoint about the Stryker project.  Students will learn about the industrial design career.  Students will begin to plan out their designs.

Tuesday: Students will finish planning out their designs for their headboard and footboard.  Students will begin working on their designs on the computer.

Wednesday: Students will continue to work on their Stryker designs on the computer.

Thursday: Students will continue to work on their Stryker designs on the computer.

Friday: Students will finish their Stryker designs on the computer and complete a self-evaluation.

Wednesday:Students will begin working on their self-portraits using a grid and a photograph of themselves.

Thursday:Students will continue to draw their self-portraits.

Friday:  Students will continue to draw their self-portraits.  Students will begin drawing designs in their grids.

Tuesday: Students will finish planning out their designs for their artwork based on Romero Britto.  Students will begin working on their designs on the computer.

Wednesday: Students will continue to work on their Britto designs on the computer.

Thursday: Students will continue to work on their Britto designs on the computer.

Friday: Students will finish their Britto designs on the computer and complete a self-evaluation.

Wednesday:Students will continue to work on their collages.

Thursday:Students will continue to work on their collages.

Friday:  Students will finish their collages and complete a self-evaluation.
